(Ti Lancio dalla Lombardia e dall’Emilia Romagna) Milano-Reggio Emilia February 18, 2026 – A “surgically precise” theft of raw materials at the Eurolls Spa plant in Boffalora sopra Ticino (Milan), resulting in damages exceeding €200,000, has triggered a national debate on the fraying relationship between Italian institutions and the productive sector.
The incident is no longer viewed as mere industrial crime but as a symptom of a structural breakdown. Renato Railz, founder of the italian industrial giant Eurolls, has defined the event as an “attack on the dignity of the enterprise.”Railz argues that entrepreneurs should not be forced to divert vital resources from innovation to the physical defense of their borders.
The Eurolls case is not an isolated one. Industrial and civil sectors have long signaled an escalation in crime affecting both logistics hubs and urban centers. Fabio Storchi, President of the local chapter of UCID (Union of Christian Business Executives), warns that widespread insecurity is more than a social emergency; it is a direct handbrake on national growth.
“When citizens and entrepreneurs perceive a withdrawal of institutions from the protection of legality, the social pact is at risk of breaking,” states Storchi. “The defense of property and personhood cannot be delegated to the individual. To do so would be to accept a drift toward social models based on self-protection and the fragmentation of authority—models that are foreign to our tradition.”
According to Storchi, the solution does not lie in temporary palliatives. The challenge is systemic. While monitoring and tracking technologies are widely available, they remain underutilized. Combining physical presence with digital tools to map risks and prevent urban decay. Transforming industrial zones and historic centers back into hubs of attraction for investment and social interaction. When people return to the streets and districts without fear, local businesses thrive and act as organic guardians of the territory.
Enterprises and local shops are the engine of the country. However, if this engine is forced to operate in defensive isolation, the entire economic system risks a slowdown.
The UCID and industrial leaders are calling upon the State for a firm presence and structural investments in security. Legality guaranteed by constituted authority is the fundamental prerequisite for any vision of the future. Ultimately, demanding security means demanding the minimum conditions necessary to continue producing and living within a civilized community.
